Let’s meet in Marrakesh, let’s celebrate our togetherness!

In the wake of the devastating earthquake that recently shook the Al Haouz region, with Marrakesh at its heart, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) has embarked on a significant and heartwarming initiative aimed at continuing the same spirit of unity and solidarity that has spread among all the Moroccan people during the earthquake.

Launched under the banner “Ntla9awfMarrakech” or “Let’s Meet in Marrakesh,” this national communication campaign encourages every Moroccan to converge in Marrakesh during the upcoming Eid Al Mawlid celebrations and October school holidays.

Certainly, the earthquake, which struck the Al Haouz region, left a deep impact on the communities and landscapes of this historically rich area. However, amidst the challenges, Moroccans have showcased their unwavering strength, resilience, and solidarity. The MNTO recognized the need to harness this spirit and offer a beacon of hope and healing for the affected region.

Eid Al Mawlid, a sacred religious holiday, is set to span four days by adding Saturday and Sunday, offering an ideal opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy the remarkable offerings of Marrakesh. The campaign is also aligned with the October school holidays, ensuring that students and families can make the most of this break.

Marrakesh, often referred to as the “Red City” due to its distinctive red sandstone buildings, is renowned for its enchanting blend of history, culture, and hospitality. From the bustling souks of the Medina and the warm and friendly square of Jamaa El Fna to the spiritual Koutoubia Mosque, which is proof of Marrakesh’s architectural richness and endurance for centuries, while exploring the enchanting riads, where timeless Moroccan elegance awaits in the heart of the city, offering a unique and tranquil escape for a journey back in time to our ancestors.

Hopefully, the MNTO is collaborating with local businesses, hoteliers, and attractions to offer special packages and discounts, making it even more enticing for Moroccans to choose Marrakesh as their holiday destination. Additionally, it is worth organizing a series of cultural events and festivals to ensure a memorable experience for everyone who visits.

Morocco has always been known for its vibrant culture, rich history, and the warmth of its people. The recent earthquake has shown us the strength of our unity and our ability to come together in times of adversity. Therefore, by choosing Marrakesh as our holiday’s destination, we are not only contributing to the recovery efforts of this beautiful region but also celebrating our togetherness.

We look forward to seeing you in Marrakesh during these upcoming holidays!
